Why? Why? Why??

So, why did you sign up? Do tell!! Of course, there’s the books. Duh! They’re amazing, right?! It’s too hard to resist the value of the Usborne Books & More Starter kit. Let’s dive a little deeper. You may have signed up with a clear idea of how this business opportunity can be a game-changer for your family. Or, you could have been like me: you went to a party and came away with a HUGE ($1600+!!) wish list and you thought, hey, why not. It was a few months later when I realized WHY this opportunity presented itself to me and WHY I was going to do everything in my power to build a successful business.

What’s your “why” or your motivation? For many of us, as mamas, our “why” is our family. We want to create an income that’s going to cover the dance classes and family trips. We want to create the best future for our kids and financially be in a position to do that with ease. Your “why” might be something for yourself because every ounce of energy is focused on taking care of your family. Hey, having a hobby that gets you a paycheck is pretty sweet! Maybe your couch has holes (dang scissors!) and you’d love a new one. Nothing wrong with that!

Erin’s Pro Tip: Create a visual dream board and put your WHY in the middle. Keep this on your desk, set it as the backdrop on your phone or computer, or post it on the fridge for the whole family to see. Let it serve as a constant reminder of WHY you are here and why you’re going to work to build a successful business.

Your To-Do List:

  • Watch the video all about WHY.
  • Take a few minutes and jot down your WHY. Then post it by your workstation. Even just jotting it down on a post-it works great.
  • Leave a comment and share your WHY with the team.
  • Download the Getting Started Workbook if you haven’t already.

  1. My WHY: I never want to see the disappointed look on my childrens’ faces again when I tell them we can’t afford music lessons or sports or just a trip to the theater. I don’t want to watch them get left out and behind.
My other big WHY is that we want to buy a house but we will never get there with just one income in the area we live. And we refuse to sacrifice home schooling our children, so a traditional job is out for me.
I absolutely adore the books but my biggest goals are financial freedom for my family.

  2. Hi! My why is my family… My new baby! I want to be able to stay home with her as long as possible and keep her bookshelf loaded with the best books for her growing mind.

  3. My why is my family! I grew up loving to read and learn, and I want my son and other future children to have that same love. Also, even though I’m already working as a full-time nurse, we are preparing to move and buy our first home, and having that extra income will help decrease the stress of home buying.

  4. My why is my family. I have always loved books. Growing up I spent a lot of time with my Nana who was a reading tutor at my elementary school. She always instilled the importance if reading to us. We always had amazing books to read at her house and that has always stuck with me. I would love to start out with just bringing home amazing books for my 2 boys (eventually baby 3 will happen, just not yet lol) and be able to pay off the credit card debt that we have. Then I would love to be able to pay for preschool and sports for the boys. And then my big why would be to get a bigger house with a backyard for my boys. I always loved to read and play pretend outside as a child and I want that for my kids.

  5. Ever since we moved for my husband to finish his degree, I have wanted to find a way to help out financially. He took a large pay cut which has resulted in some tight months. I want to help cover some of our monthly bills to ease some of the burden from him as he is so busy working full time while attending school full time. I am so proud of his hard work! My other reason for joining is my two, crazy kids. I want them to love reading and to encourage them to learn new things. Also, my hope is that I can experience some personal growth. Being a mom can be lonely especially when you live far from friends.

  6. I would like an excuse for my Usborne browsing obsession. I figure it’s an easy, fun way to earn a little money without the pressure. I was going to tell my friends about Usborne so why not get some money for it.

  7. My Why is my family and financial freedom. I am a SAHM this year with our little girl and offering daycare for another family. I’m hoping the extra cash I get from Usborne book sales will ease some of stresses we feel financially and help out with expenses you can’t plan for. For months I have been trying to think of another way to help financially from home but nothing I found interested me or would I be able to do without a lot of training or big financial investment. Usborne books is something I am interested in and excited about plus the 2 kit options are nothing in cost compared to other investments other companies have.

  8. My why: I love the personal library I receive for my children, the thought of teaching my kids new things and the opportunity to read to them, thought of making and meeting wonderful people and knowing I can help my family financially.

  9. My answer to “why” I joined is because I have grandchildren I want to buy books for them and read to them. I grandchildren range from 18 years to 4 months old.
